Rory McIlroy Strengthens Europe Ahead of Ryder Cup

Europe’s Ryder Cup team is looking stronger and stronger; mainly thanks to the fantastic performance that Rory McIlroy has put in this season.

After victory at both the US Open and US PGA, Rory McIlroy is set to be a great asset to the European team in the Ryder Cup.
His performance has been so impressive that Tom Watson, the captain of the US Ryder Cup team, has said, “I wish he was playing for my team, I can tell you that.”
The biggest worry for McIlroy is that he will burn out. In 2008 Padraig Harrington went to the Valhalla Ryder Cup after completing the same Open and PGA double.
However, he only managed half a point from a possible four in what turned out to be Europe’s only defeat this century.
However, before the Ryder Cup begins, McIlroy will be attempting to claim the spoils in the lucrative PGA Tour play-offs. This should give fans the perfect opportunity to assess his form before the Ryder Cup in September.
