England-India Test Series Results Are Close With Two Remaining
England put in a fantastic team performance to level the Test series with India and set up a dramatic meeting later this week at Old Trafford. The first Test ended in a draw and India went on to win the second Test, now with two Tests remaining the pressure is on both teams. In the third Test Alistair Cook was under immense pressure having received such heavy criticism following the team’s defeat in the second Test. However, he put in an admirable performance and will have silenced the critics whilst justifying his position as the England captain.
A number of other senior English players put in good performances, Ian Bell, James Anderson and Stuart Broad; however, a final judgement on the team’s performance cannot be made before the end of the series.
Before the next Test there are two International Cricket Council hearings. Anderson has been accused of pushing and verbally abusing Ravindra Jadeja while Jadeja is appealing against the 50% match-fee fine that he received for his part in the incident.
Whatever the outcome of the hearings, one of the teams is sure to be extremely angry when they next meet. This is sure to affect the way the next Test is played and could make it even more dramatic.
With just two Tests left in the series, cricket fans from both England and India can be sure of an action filled few weeks.
