Germany Faces Argentina In World Cup Finals, Netherlands Secures 3rd Place

Germany is scheduled to face Argentina in the World Cup Final Sunday at 19:00GMT after trouncing Brazil in a 7-1 victory last week. Argentina had their work cut out going into a semi-final against France which went into penalties and eventually resulted in a 4-2 victory for the South American squad.

Don’t miss the exciting conclusion to the world’s most anticipated football competition as Germany take the field against Argentina Sunday.

Brazil fell short again in the World Cup penultimate match held Saturday, leaving Netherlands to claim the victory and Third Place in the global football competition.

Robin van Persie, Daley Blind and Georginio Wijnaldum each scored to put their team, The Netherlands, up 3-0 over Brazil by the time the final whistle was blown.  It was the first back-to-back defeat brazil suffered on home soil since 1940.

An early penalty inside the box gave Van Persie all the room he needed to find the back of the net and start his team off with a goal only three minutes into the match. Blind sank his first international goal 15 minutes later off a botched header from Brazil’s David Luiz. In the game’s 90th minute, Wijnaldum would drive the final nail in Brazil’s coffin this competition and secure their 3rd place victory.
