Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana Ready for May 3rd Showdown
It’s less than a week to go for the ultimate Welterweight showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Maidana commented that he is extremely happy to be facing off with Mayweather as it will give him the opportunity to show the world that he is the best welterweight in the division.
He went on further to say that he carries the weight of his Argentine people into the ring as well as the pride and glory of Hispanics around the world.
This is not the first time that Mayweather is facing an Argentine fighter, since he defeated Gustavo Cuello in ’98, Carlos Rios in ’99 and Carlos Baldomir in ’06.
Mayweather originally had his sites on England’s Amir Khan but negotiations were called off. Khan previously defeated Maidana in 2010.

The fight will be broadcast live on Showtime Pay-Per-View.
