Wladimir Klitschko vs Alex Leapai – Match Preview

This Saturday Australian Alex Leapai is taking on heavyweight boxing world champion Wladimir Klitschko in Germany. Klitschko has dominated the scene for the last decade and is widely tipped to win; however, some believe that Leapai has what it takes to cause an upset.

Unfortunately for Leapai the bookies massively favor Klitschko. Paddy Power has odds of 15/2 for Leapai to win and the odds on Klitschko are 1/18, a draw has been set at 40/1.

Klitschko is taller and has a longer reach, furthermore, he has far more experience having already won Olympic gold and professional world titles before Leapai had even debuted. Klitschko hasn’t lost a match in nearly a decade now and is widely considered the best heavyweight in the world for a generation.

However, he does have one weakness, on three occasions he has been stopped by a solid punch to the chin. If Leapai is to win this match he’ll have to get up close to Klitschko and cut him down with hooks and uppercuts.

He is certainly determined to do his best. In a recent interview he said, “I am here to win. I don’t care what Klitschko has got. To be honest, he should be worried about what I have got because we’re here to win.”
