Liverpool vs Chelsea – Betting Preview
This Sunday Liverpool plays Chelsea in the Premier League and it is set to be one of the biggest matches of the season. Both teams have the chance to win the title, but in recent weeks Liverpool has surged ahead and is just a few victories away from their first title in 24 years.
Liverpool has the home advantage in this match but as always that comes with a huge amount of pressure. At the same time the game lies in-between two UEFA Champions League semi-final games that Chelsea is playing against Atletico.
It is probably because of this that Paddy Power has made Liverpool favorite to win with odds of 8/11; Chelsea is behind at 7/2 while a draw has been set at 3/1.
Ironically Liverpool’s last defeat in the Premier League was to Chelsea, back in December 2013. However, Chelsea has lost three of its last six games including at home to Sunderland.
Furthermore, Chelsea manager, José Mourinho, has said that he’d like to rest virtually his entire team before the Champions League match.
Mourinho is said to be furious that the Liverpool game was not rescheduled for Friday or Saturday in order to give the team time to recover. However, he will need permission from the team’s owner if he wants to give the leading players a break.
