NASCAR Daytona 500 Betting Preview
The NASCAR Daytona 500 race taking place this weekend is without a doubt one of the highlights of the racing year.
It’s sure to be a tough race and there are some excellent drivers taking part. Favorite to win (at 10/1) is last year’s winner Jimmie Johnson. Last year’s victory kick started Johnson’s campaign to a sixth Spring Cup Championship.
However, there are a number of other drivers who are in with an excellent chance of winning and deserve a much closer look.
With odds of 12/1, Kyle Busch is making his 19th career start at Daytona; he has actually won there once in summer’s Coke Zero400. Last season was fantastic for Busch and he ended with a career-best fourth-place finish after the 36 races. It’s very possible that he could begin this year with an impressive win.
Not far behind at 14/1 is Tony Stewart. Stewart has a good record at Daytona; he’s won it four times, finished in the top-five nine times and had 14 top-10 finishes. This year Stewart is likely to be extremely motivated following his disastrous season last year when he suffered multiple fractures to his leg which led to him missing the last 15 races on the schedule.
