Cardiff vs Aston Villa Betting Preview
This Tuesday Aston Villa will travel to Wales and take on Cardiff in the Premier League. Cardiff has not yet won back to back home games in the league since they were promoted and has lost seven of its last eight games against Aston Villa. As a result it is quite surprising that Cardiff is the bookies favorites to win. Odds of 7/5 are available on Cardiff while Aston Villa is at 2/1 to win. A draw has been placed at 9/4.
However, the teams have fairly similar statistics for this season. Aston Villa is 12th in the league having won 7, drawn 6 and lost 12 games. Cardiff has won 5, drawn 6 and lost 14 placing them 19th in the league.
Villa maybe without defender Ryan Bertrand for this match after he hurt his ribs in a collision with a goalpost.
Bertrand was injured during the 2-0 defeat to West Ham but played through the pain before being replaced by Joe Bennett for the last 15 minutes of the game.
Manager Paul Lambert said, ““It’s his ribs, I think, at the minute. I don’t think he’s broken them but we’ll have to see tomorrow. I don’t know if he will be available for Tuesday but the problem was from his collision against the post.”
