Nevada Casino to Host New Boxing Championship

Banner Promotions Inc. is running a new boxing tournament aimed at promoting the sport’s newest stars. The Boxcino 2014 Championship will be a single-elimination, two weight class tournament running from February 21st at the Edgewater Casino in Laughlin, Nevada.

The Boxcino 2014 Championship will take place at the Edgewater Casino and be televised by ESPN.

The tournament will feature eight fighters from both the lightweight and middleweight divisions. It will be made up of five shows, a preliminary round, semi-final and finals in each division.
The tournament will be televised on ESPN Friday Night Fights presented by Corona Extra and ESPN Deportes’ Noche de Combates presented by Corona Extra.

The preliminary round will include four, 6-round fights with the winners progressing to the semi-finals which will be 8-round fights. The two finals will be ten round fights. Fans will be able to vote for a “most valuable boxer” who will then be presented with a specially designed ring.

The CEO of Banner Promotions, Arthur Pelullo, has said that “This will be one of the most unique tournaments that boxing has seen in a long time. We are excited at the concept and we believe that new stars will be born. The fans will watch these fighters grow and the fighters know that a great performance will make them a major player in the sport.”
