Super Bowl Betting Frenzy as Championship Approaches

With the Super Bowl just a few days away sports fans across the world are busy placing their final bets ahead of the game.

The Denver Broncos are favorite to win this year’s championship with odds of 10/13. However, the Seattle Seahawks aren’t too far behind with odds of 11/10 and many believe they still have a chance to win.

By far the most extravagant bets have come from professional boxer Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather has reportedly bet almost $15 million on the Broncos to win by more than two points next week. There are also reports that he bet $2.96 million on the Broncos leading at half-time.

The mayors of Seattle and Denver have placed friendly Super Bowl bets in order to promote local businesses and causes.

A friendly bet by Seattle and Denver Mayors

The mayors of Seattle and Denver have placed friendly Super Bowl bets in order to promote local businesses and causes.

Seattle Mayer Ed Murray said that if the Broncos win he will send Denver’s Mayor, Michael Hancock, salmon, Dungeness crab, and a bicycle. Furthermore a piece of blown glass from artist Dale Chihuly will be auctioned to raise money for Denver’s Road Home program for the homeless.

If the Seahawks win Mayor Hancock has promised to send a sample of Denver’s green chili, a hoodie, ball cap and locally made skis. He will also be auctioning off a Denver themed item to raise money for the Seattle based Lifelong AIDS Alliance.
