Barao vs Faber – UFC169 Betting Preview

On February 1st bantamweight champion Renan Barao will face Urijah Faber in UFC 169 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Barao was originally meant to fight Dominick Cruz; however, Cruz has been forced to withdraw due to a groin injury.
After Cruz dropped out Faber stepped in, this not only gives him the chance to claim the belt but also avenge a loss. At the UFC149 in July 2012 Barao defeated Faber via unanimous decision to claim the title.
However, things are not looking good for Faber; most bookies are offering odds of 4/11 on Barao while the best on Faber are 2/1.
Nonetheless, Faber is currently on a four-fight win streak having beaten Ivan Menjivar, Scott Jorgensen, Iuri Alcantara and Michael McDonald in recent months. Barao on the other hand has only fought twice since UFC 149, he defeated Michael McDonald by submission and then Eddie Wineland with a TKO at UFC165 in September.
Faber doesn’t have much time to prepare for this fight, his last was on December 13th and he is probably wishing he had a bit more time to prepare for his third attempt at a UFC title.
