Belfast Giants vs Hull Stingrays – Challenge Cup Quarter-Final

The Belfast Giants have home advantage in the quarter final of the Challenge Cup against the Hull Stingrays.

However, the Stingrays’ team owner Bobby McEwan thinks that the team has a chance of winning, “With a one-off game we feel we have a chance, particularly when you look at Saturday against Nottingham. It was an unbelievable result with seven forwards and six defence. We’re on a good run, we feel we have a chance against anyone nowadays.”

According to McEwan it was a financial decision to give the Belfast Giants a home advantage in the quarter-final. Unlike last season, there will be no home match at Hull Arena. McEwan explained that “If we play just one leg it saves us going back for an extra trip. Also, if we don’t have a home leg we don’t have to pay Belfast’s expenses to bring them to Hull.”
