Big Apple Boxing at Resorts World Casino
Over the weekend at Resorts World Casino in New York, the rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson ended the 2013 season of his SMS Promotions with the presentation of “Big Apple Boxing” in which five of the six fights ended with knockouts.The main event saw Amir “Young Master” Imam defeated and knocked out by Sergio “Sirenito” Perez from Mexico.
Imam was knocked out just 52 seconds in to the opening round of the bout and Perez took the North American Boxing Federation junior welterweight title. Similarly, Joel Diaz Jr. managed to knockout Tony “Sugar Boy” Walker after just 2:27 of fighting.
Three of the fighters promoted by 50 Cent pulled off impressive wins. Emmanuel “Pirata” DeJesus won in the fourth round with a technical knockout against Antonio Chaves-Fernandez.
Ryan “Blue-Chip” Martin knocked out Eric Jamal Goodall in the first round and Donte Strayhorn achieved his first professional knockout against Sam Moura in the fourth round.
In the remaining fight of the night Nate “The Great One” Green bounced back from a first-round knockdown to beat Thomas “KO” Snow. Green won a unanimous six-round decision by identical scores of 57-54.
