Kevin Harvick Claims Victory in Hollywood Casino 400
Last Sunday Kevin Harvick won the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway in a race which had a record number of cautions and tightened the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.Thanks to Harvick’s victory he is now closer and within 25 points of Matt Kenseth in the Chase standings at the same time Jimmie Johnson came sixth and cut back to Kenseth from eight points to three. Second place went to Kurt Busch, third to Jeff Gordon, fourth to Loey Logano and fifth to Carl Edwards.
Busch had a bad day, on lap 200 he went loose in turn two and hit the outside wall doing major damage to the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Busch was out of the race and afterwards said, “I have no idea what happened, but it’s Kansas. It’s what we do here, we just crash; the racetrack is the worst racetrack I’ve ever driven on. The tires are the worst tires I’ve ever driven on”.
There were 15 cautions in the race including a four-car accident on the opening lap. There was even a caution on lap 155 for a small fire on the hill above Turn 1 that burned some bushes.
