Game On Dude Favourite to Win Breeders’ Cup Classic
The horse ‘Game On Dude’ has been made the early 8/5 favourites in an impressive field for the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic. In the previous to races Game On Dude didn’t manage to win, however, his trainer Bob Baffert is cautiously optimistic.Baffert has never won in the Classic, but he has trained Game On Dude to a 5-0 record this year going into the race.
Baffert said, “He’s not the same horse that ran here last year, thank God. He’s bigger, he’s filled out and he’s a happy horse. I’ve spaced his races out and that’s allowed me to keep his weight on.”
Game on Dude has had six straight wins this year and is currently the No. 1 ranked thoroughbred in America, if he wins then there’s a good chance he will also be crowned Horse of the Year.
However, he is not without competition. Last year’s winner, Fort Larned, is also back this year to try and defend his title. He has odds of 6/1 and has been drawn at the No. 7 post which he trainer, Ian Wilkes, has described as a “lucky number”.
