Major Upgrade for Freeze Winter Sports Festival
The UK’s largest winter sports festival has grown and will be moving to a new home. The Freeze Festival, in association with Metro, will be taking place at Clapham Common and will feature five days of winter sports and après ski partying.Organizers are expecting about 30,000 people to attend; visitors will be able to enjoy alpine food stalls, ski bars and a shopping village on site.
There will be a number of professional winter sports athletes competing in the Hail the Rail competition and trying to win the £14,000 prize.
There will also be a ski and snowboard cinema which will screen winter sports films, film premiers and talks from athletes that feature in the films.
There will also be winter sports competitions on the ski slope accompanied by performances from top music acts such as Madeon known for his remixes and engineering from Deadmau5.
There will be a total of five themed alpine bars including Dicks Tee Bar, Bavarian Haus, Metro House, La Folie Douche and Krazy Kangaroo. Visitors will be able to enjoy a number of seasonal treats including bratwurst, crepes, fondue and mulled wine.
