A transfer at the last second? Arsène Wenger is not giving up on Mesut Özil.

Done Transfer Deals – England:

  • Finally an official announcement – Real Madrid announced Gareth Bale’s transfer to the club. The player signed a 6 year contract with the Blancos. Real Madrid did not give any details as to how much the transfer cost them, however sources say Tottenham will receive over €100 million, the highest amount any club has ever paid for a player.
  • Everton finalized James McCarthy’s transfer from Wigan for £12.5 million. The Irish midfielder’s transfer deal might be the one that paves Marouane Fellaini’s way to Manchester United, on which an official announcement is expected before midnight tonight.
  • Crystal Palace signed midfielder Jack Hunt on a 4 year contract for £2 million.
  • Liverpool signed Sporting Lisbons defender, Thiago Illory.
  • Following Victor Moses’s loan from Chelsea, Liverpool released Italian striker, Fabio Borini to Sunderland.

Done Transfer Deals – Germany:

  • Patrick Helms returned to his home-town with FC Köln. The 29 year old striker played in Wolfsburg for 2 seasons, and was bought for €5 million.
  • Another player leaving Wolfsburg is Makoto Hasebe, who is transferring to FC Nürnberg after 5 seasons with Wolfsburg.
  • Schalke 04 loaned Swiss midfielder, Tranquillo Barnetta, to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Done Transfer Deals – Italy:

  • Milan confirmed they have reached a deal with Kaka until 2015. The Brazilian midfielder arrived to the Bernabéu for €64 million, and will transfer from Real to San Siro for free.
  • Argentinian striker Jonathan Cristaldo was loaned from Metalist Kharkiv to Bologna.
  • Lazio signed a deal to transfer Albanian goal keeper, Etrit Beriša, from Kalmar.

Done Transfer Deals – Spain:

  • Atlético Madrid caught up €10 million and transferred Josuha Guilavogui from Saint Étienne. The 22 year old also plays for the French national team.

Done Transfer Deals – Rest of Europe:

  • Steaua Bucure?ti bought defender Fernando Varela from Vaslui for €1.4 million.
  • Panathinaikos released defensive midfielder Pape Habib Sow to sign a 3 year contract with Elaz??spor.
  • Russian midfielder Kamil Agalarov returned to Anzhi Makhachkala from Rostov.
