Spurs Open Talks with Real Madrid over Gareth Bale
Tottenham Hotspurs’ chairman Daniel Levy has opened talks with Real Madrid over a £100 million sale of Gareth Bale and he is expected to meet Florentino Perez on August 6th to discuss the deal.
All summer Levy has been insisting that Bale is not for sale, however, Real has been consistently campaigning for him and recently told him it was ‘now or never’ for him to move prompting Bale to tell Levy that he wants to leave Spurs.
The move has lead Levy to start discussions with Real however, Levy will only agree if Real agrees to pay £100 million in cash, smashing the previous world record fee of £80 million.
However, the deal is not going to be without its complications.
While the deal is not yet a certainty, it is thought that Levy has already started making plans to boost the squad in the absence of Bale. Roberto Soldado is expected to be bought for £25 million from Valencia and Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches is also expected to sign a £7 million deal.
Despite Bale admitting that he wants to leave Spurs, he has also made it clear that he is happy at the club. However, with Levy now talking to Real, it looks like a world record deal will be signed in the coming weeks.
