Arsenal Still Intent on Signing Luis Suarez

Arsenal is increasing its bid to sign Luis Suarez after its initial £30 million offer was rejected by Liverpool last week.

Despite having an initial offer of £30 million rejected, Arsenal is still believed to be after the Liverpool striker
However, the bookies aren’t convinced.
There are odds of 6/4 available that Suarez will sign with Real Madrid while the best odds on Arsenal are 7/1. The odds on Suarez remaining at Liverpool are 9/4.
Nevertheless the bookies may be wrong. There are rumours that Real Madrid isn’t prepared to pay the £40 million they think will be necessary to acquire the player. If that’s the case then things could be looking up for Arsenal.
In an interview early last week Suarez hinted that he may be interested in staying in English football saying that English “clubs still value players for what they can do on the field. That makes me think I can come back and do well there. It’s good that the English clubs still want me.”
In other transfer news it seems Everton midfielder Fellaini may not switch to Arsenal after all. The player has a £23.5 million release clause in his contract that expires on August 15th. While Arsene Wenger is interested in Fellaini, he has around £70 million to spend and it is thought he will only make a move for him if he has money left.
