Andy Murray on Track to Wimbledon Final
It’s proving to be a good year for British tennis number one Andy Murray at Wimbledon; he is through to the final eight thanks to a straight set victory over Mikhail Youzhny on Monday afternoon.
Murray is yet to lose a set in this tournament and is a strong favourite to reach the final.
However, he is still a long way behind favourite Novak Djokovic to win the tournament. Bookies have given Murray odds of 11/8 to win while Djokovic is at 1/1.
After his win today Murray said that there is still a long way to go to victory, “I don’t take anything for granted; I know how hard these tournaments are to do well in. I don’t expect to come into these tournaments to win them. I’ve only won one. I’ve just got to keep trying. A few rounds ago I was maybe a little bit nervous.
There were some tight moments today but I felt calmer. Serena Williams has lost today and she doesn’t lose many. Federer and Nadal have lost. Those guys and girls are better than me, so if they can lose so can I.”
