Shabazz Muhammad Declares for NBA Draft
On Tuesday UCLA freshman guard Shabazz Muhammad declared for the NBA draft.
In a prepared statement Muhammed said “I am so thankful for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play at UCLA and will always be proud to be a Bruin. From a young age, I have dreamed of playing in the NBA, and I believe that this is the right time for me to move to the next level.”
Muhammad had a disappointing season which was capped with an opening-round loss to Minnesota.
He has proved he can score, but little else and hence he will need a lot of work.
Most of his scoring comes when he goes left and his jump shot is inconsistent. However, it is likely that a team will quickly pick him up due to his scoring potential, but he will need a strong coach.
Last season he averaged 17.9 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Bruins. He shot 44.3% from the field and 37.7% from deep for the season which earned him All-Pac-12 First Team honours.
