Oscar Pistorius Shows Interest in Resuming Training
Earlier this week, Oscar Pistorius informed South African authorities that he wishes to resume athletic training while on bail. However, his spokeswoman Janine hills said that “he is currently in mourning and is focus is not on his sports.”
Chief Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Correctional Services, James Smalberger, said that it’s Pistorius’ wish to continue training. According to Smalberger the issue arose as authorities need to know Pistorius’ exact movements.
Pistorius will be visited by official at least four times a month while he lives in his uncle’s home. While he has indicted an interest in training again, Smalberger says that more planning is needed and authorities “want a training program from his coach so that we have backup for his movements.”
While Pistorius is not under house arrest it is essential that authorities know where he is at all times. Smalberger said that they “agree on ‘free time’ normally during the course of the day, and in the evening we expect him to be home.”
