Nevada Bookies Predict Record Super Bowl Betting

Thanks to an exciting matchup and a recovering economy, Las Vegas bookies are hoping that betting on this year’s Super Bowl will be higher than average.

Some analysts think that this year will break the record for the most bet on the Super Bowl in Nevada.
Some are even saying that this year could break the record of $94.5 million bet in Nevada set at Super Bowl XL.
This year’s game is made all the more exciting as the coaches are brothers and it is Ray Lewis’ final game. However, the amount bet on the Super Bowl is hard to predict with 80% of bets placed in the final days before the game.
Last year came close to breaking the record when the New York Giants versus the New England Patriots brought in $93,899,840 worth of bets.
Nevada bookies will be concerned about the profit they can make from the event; the best result for the bookies was in 2005 when they made $15,430,138 with a 17% profit.
However, there is no guarantee that profits will be made. In 1996 Nevada bookies lost $396,000 and in 2008 when the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots the bookies lost a massive $2,573,103.
At present most bets have been placed on the Ravens so bookies are likely to be hoping for a San Francisco victory.
