Man City Without David Platt for Champions League Match
While Manchester City has been eliminated from the Champions League they still have matches to play and next week they take on Borrusia Dortmund.
However, they will be without assistant coach David Platt who was banned for two European matches after he was sent on if the team’s match against Real Madrid.
Despite this, City aren’t too far behind in the betting odds, Dortmund is favourite with odds of 13/10, however, City have odds of 17/8 and are sin with a chance of winning.
Platt received a red card in the 1 – 1 draw against Madrid and since then UEFA released a statement saying that “The UEFA control and disciplinary body has suspended Manchester City FC assistant coach David Platt for the next two UEFA competition matches.”
The statement went on to say that Platt will “not be able to carry out his function at Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Group D match against Borussia Dortmund in Germany.” Furthermore, he will also be excluded from City’s next UEFA competition match, whenever that may be.
In addition to Platt’s suspension, the team have also been fined 12,000 euros for improper conduct (five cards of more) of the players in the same match.
