Weeden Back for Browns vs Raiders Match
This Sunday the Cleveland Browns take on the Oakland Raiders and Browns fans will be pleased to hear that quarterback Brandon Weeden has recovered from his concussion.
The Raiders are favourite to win this match with odds of 8/13 so the Browns, with odds of 23/17, will need all the good fortune they can get.
On Wednesday this week Coach Pat Shurmur said that Weeden “participated in the meetings, participated in the walk through, and he’ll do everything in practice today and we’ll get him ready to start on Sunday.”
Shurmur said that if there are any unforeseen setbacks then Colt McCoy will start in his place.
Weeden was injured in the fourth quarter when he was taken down by Steelers linebacker Jason Worilds and hit his head on Joe Thomas’ leg.
However, Shurmur isn’t giving McCoy any extra preparation; he said that McCoy may get “a rep or two more. But for the most part, you get the starter ready to go. And at this point Weeden is healthy, so he goes.”
Almost a year ago McCoy suffered a concussion when he was hit by Steelers linebacker James Harrison. The concussion went unnoticed at first and McCoy went back in the game, however, he didn’t play for the rest of the season.
