Andy Reid Coaching Eagles for Cowboys Match
Next week the Philadelphia Eagles face the Dallas Cowboys and many fans were surprised to hear that Andy Reid would still be coaching the Eagles after they lost seven games in a row.
It is perhaps because of this that the betting odds for this match are so drastic, the Cowboys, with odds of 1/5, are favourites by a long way next to the Eagles odds of 17/4.
When Reid was asked whether owner Jeffrey Lurie had assured him about his job he said that “He’s been supportive.
Obviously, he’s as competitive as anybody and he wants to win games.
That’s what he’s in this business for. But we really haven’t gone there. I’m trying to get this football team to win games; that’s what I’m trying to do. That’s where my energy is.”
It has been claimed that a high-ranking official in the Eagles said that the plan was to have Reid coach the season and then determine his future.
However, last August Lurie said that last season’s 8-8 record was unacceptable. So it seems that at some point Reid will be fired. He has been with the team for 14 years an amassed a 129-89-1 record, so it’s likely, that when he is eventually fired, he won’t find it very hard to find a new job.
