Arsenal take on Villa Amidst Benteke Controversy
This Saturday Arsenal will travel to Aston Villa for a match which they look fairly certain to win.
William Hill has given Arsenal odds of 4/6 to win while Aston Villa is outsiders at 4/1.
The two teams have been in the news this week with Villa denying reports linking Benteke with Arsenal.
The striker has been quoted as saying he would be interested in a move but Villa manager Paul Lambert says that he believes the words have been misconstrued.
He was quoted as saying “Arsenal are the club I love, I like their philosophy of selecting young players and, besides, they had Thierry Henry”.
However, he went on to say that he is a “Villa player for now. They’re the right club at the right time.”
Lambert said that he’s “not going to lose any sleep over it but I’m pretty sure he’s been misrepresented a little bit there.” He went on to say that “the big guy is more than happy here. He’s playing really well and he’s happy the way he is.”
As for Benteke’s love of Arsenal Lambert said that “Everyone has a team they’ve always followed or players they looked at. If he had an idol he looked up to, I’m sure he’s not the first and he won’t be the last.”
