Giants and Tigers Prepare for First Ever Faceoff
The 2012 World Series postseason has proved to be extremely unpredictable and now it’s down to two teams in a matchup that has never been seen before.
The San Francisco Giants will be hosting the Detroit Tigers next Wednesday and it is sure to be an intense match.
Whilst both teams are formidable, the bookies all have the Detroit Tigers pegged as the winners with odds of 8/13, the San Francisco Giants are quite a way behind with odds of 17/10.
The Giants won their spot by defeating the Cardinals and an offense that looked extremely dangerous. The Cardinals fought hard to defend their World Series title but fell just short.
Mike Matheny, the Cardinals’ manager said that “It wasn’t how we scripted it to finish, but it was certainly a great run that these guys need to be very proud of.”
With the Cardinals out of the picture the Giants and Tigers will face each other for the first time ever. Both teams have made it to this stage of the competition multiple times, however, never in the same season.
It should be a thrilling match to finish off an excellent postseason and one thing is for sure, it will certainly be unique.
