Football Season Continues with Mixed Results

There have been some surprise Football results over the last week right across Europe.
Real Madrid suffered a shock defeat at the hands of their neighbours Getafe in La Liga last Sunday. They were leading but the match ended 2 -1 ending Real’s 24 match unbeaten run.
Less surprisingly in England, the European champions Chelsea continued its perfect start to the season with a 2 – 0 win over Newcastle United. Chelsea has won all three matches this season and is at the top of the table with 9 points.
Manchester City had a reasonable match against Liverpool where they came from behind to draw 2 – 2 with Carlos Tevez scrapping a point for City with his 100th league goal.
In Italy Pescara, newcomers to Serie A, were unsurprisingly dominated by Inter Milan and lost 3 – 0. Sneijder scored the first goal 17 minutes into the match and Milito managed a second just two minutes later. The game was wrapped up by Coutinho just 9 minutes before the end of the match.
More surprising was Sampdoria’s return to Serie A with a surprise 1- 0 victory over AC Milan. Andrea Costa scored the only goal as Milan left supporters frustrated by hitting the posts twice.
