3 days since the opening ceremony, it’s time to do a medals count. China leads the Olympics medal table with 6 gold medals, followed by Team USA with 3 gold medals.

Yi Siling of China won the 10-meter air rifle on Saturday, giving China the first gold medal of the 2012 London Summer Olympics. “I feel like I had a lot of luck,” Yi said. China has won another gold medal in shooting, 2 in swimming, 1 in weightlifting and 1 in diving. They won their silver medals in shooting, swimming, weightlifting and archery. China has won a total of 12 medals and the USA has won a total of 11.

Team USA has thus far won 2 gold medals in swimming and one in shooting. They also won 3 silver medals in swimming, 1 in diving and 1 in archery. Italy is in third place with 8 total medals won. That includes 2 gold medals in fencing and archery, 4 silver medals (fencing and shooting) and 2 bronze medals (fencing and judo).

Korea is currently in 4th place with 5 medals won. The Korean team has won 2 golds (archery and shooting), 1 silver (swimming) and 2 bronze medals (archery and judo). Close behind is France with 4 medals won – 2 gold medals (swimming – one of which stunned Team USA and Michael Phelps), one silver (shooting) and one bronze (judo).
