Tottenham Hotspurs vs. Aston Villa this Monday

This Monday Tottenham will be hosting Aston Villa at White Hart Lane and will be trying to win their ninth Premier League match in a row.

On Monday Tottenham are hosting Aston Villa at White Hart Lane in a match that is sure to be full of action.

Tottenham are now just sitting outside the top four after and winning seven and drawing one of their last eight matches. Spurs did not spend much over the summer and most of last season’s team are now working well with free transfer Brad Friedel, on-loan Emmanuel Adebayor and Scott Parker. All three of them are performing excellently and helping to take the team to new heights. Harry Redknapp has done well to hold his team together after Modric threatened to destabilise the club by moving to Chelsea. However, it didn’t happen and the Croatian player has put in some superb performances over the last few games. Redknapp is not expected to be at Monday’s game after he underwent heart surgery two weeks ago.

Aston Villa is not having the best season having won very few games. However, since the Scot Alex McLeish has taken over the team they have started to look more structured and harder to beat. Under McLeish’s leadership the form of Gabriel Agonbonlahor has been astounding and earned him an England call up. However, they have not yet won away this season and this is causing some concern.

Spurs may be going out without Van Der Vaart after he injured his hamstring whilst Agbonlahor will not be playing for Villa since he too injured his hamstring. The last time Villa beat Spurs away was in September 2008 but they are not expected to repeat this feat on Monday. At present Spurs appear to be the stronger side, but either way it is guaranteed to be an exciting match packed full of action.
