Betfred Announces Appointment of New Chief Executive Officer
The Sportsbetting service, Betfred, has announced the appointment of its new CEO, it emerged this month. Representatives of the leading gambling brand confirmed that Treavor Beaumont will be stepping into the shoes of Fred Done, 60, who will be taking on the role of Executive Chairman later this year. Beaumont, who is currently the boss of Tote, is one of the most respected and experienced personalities in the UK racing industry having held previous positions as MD of Coral Eurobet as well Racing Director of the British Horseracing Board.
The appointment arrives in the midst of a period of expansion for the celebrated British based firm. The organisation recently purchased two major bingo sites including Bucky and BOGOF bingo. Even more significantly, the firm acquired the state owned Tote brand for a sum of £265 million. The seven year license saw Betfred out bid competitors such as Sports Investment Partners during the government led auction of the business.
Commenting on the high profile appointment, Betfred noted that the arrival of Beaumont would pave the way for a strong collaboration between two major groups in the sports betting sector. Betfred can now expect to welcome an additional 517 sports betting shops to its existing 840 venues – allowing the company to consolidate its grip on the British high street. Such facilities will also sit alongside the brand’s existing range of online sports betting, bingo and casino offerings. It seems that Treavor Beaumont’s arrival bodes very well for the self proclaimed ‘Bonus Kings’ who look set to go from strength to strength in the critical months ahead.
