Sportsbook will open with great fanfare at The Palazzo
Jay-Z Carter, the owner of the 40/40 Club chain has recently sold the club in Las Vegas back to the Palazzo Casino. The sale does not include the naming rights however and the casino will open a new sportsbook lounge in the club’s space. The club covered some 24,000 square foot and every inch will be renovated to accommodate what is already being called the best sportsbook lounge in Vegas.
President and Chief Operating Officer at the Palazzo, Rob Goldstein says that the sportsbook which will be opening there soon will be in a class of its own. Sportsbook fans will have access to a very special club and restaurant in the Palazzo. The 40/40 Club opened in January 2008 and was forced to close due to financial troubles. There were also some complaints from staff regarding unfair dismissal and treatment. Management were forced to retrench some employees due to a slowing in the business. Jay-Z said in a statement that he was thrilled with the sale and is looking forward to expanding the 40/40 Club brand into Chicago and Tokyo.
Gamblers from around the world regularly drop in to Las Vegas to place bets on sporting events and the Palazzo and Casino’s new sportsbook lounge should become a favourite haunt for these gamblers. The 40/40 Club will close its doors at the end of September and the sportsbook lounge is expected to open in late October or early November.
