Powerball
The Australian Powerball is modeled after the wildly successful American game of the same name. It’s held throughout Australia and is officiated by the Tatts lotto organization. Each draw is unique in that balls are drawn from two drums, offering a jackpot of at least $3 million. The seven-ball lottery is drawn from a field of 1-40, while the Powerball is drawn from a pool of 1-20. Of all the Australian lotto games it offers the second-best odds of winning a jackpot outside of the Saturday lotto. With eight prize divisions players stand a solid chance of coming out of this lotto with a cash prize.
The jackpot and additional prizes are pari-mutuel, making the game’s promised rewards dependent on the sales of tickets wherever the game is played. The Powerball’s largest jackpot to date was for a sum of $80 million. Winnings can be claimed in a lump sum.
Draws for the Powerball are held every week on Thursday nights at around 8:45pm local time. Read on to learn more about how you can enter the drawing, buy tickets online, and claim your prize in the Australian Powerball.
