Couple Almost Miss £1 Million Due to Mistaken Spam Mail

It’s not uncommon to receive junk mail claiming that the receiver has won a fortune on the lottery, but one couple almost missed out on a £1 million prize after nearly ignoring a genuine message.
William and Catherinette Mullarkey from Coventry won the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker prize but Bill was convinced that the email was just spam until his granddaughter urged him to click on it. He then spoke to a lottery official on the phone who confirmed that they won £1 million at which point he said there was “excitement and lots of screaming”.
They want to use the winnings to buy a house on the Caribbean island of St Lucia where they first met 25 years ago as well as to help their nephew who was paralysed from the waist down in a road accident.
