Powerball Officials Still Hunting for $520M Winners

Officials said that they are still searching for the winner of a Powerball jackpot worth over $520 million in the state of Florida.

The ticket is one of three, which in total are worth $1.6 billion, which were sold in Florida, Tennessee and California. So far only the winner in Tennessee has come forward. The winners are given 180 days to claim the prize from the draw which took place on January 13th. However, officials say that it isn’t unusual for winners to be slow coming forward as they will often seek legal advice before receiving the life changing amount.

According to the lottery rules if a winner does not come forward in the first 60 days to receive the money then they have a further 120 days to claim the prize as an annuity which works out to be about $7.9 million in the first year with 30 annual payments to follow.
