Unusual Ways Lottery Jackpot Winners Spend their Cash
The UK National Lottery just celebrated its 21st anniversary. Over the years it has created scores of millionaires many of whom have gone on to spend their money in highly unusual ways.
For instance, in June 2005 Carol Worrall won a massive £15 million but rather than splashing out on an extravagance she has continued to holiday in Hunstanton in Norfolk and spent a meagre £25,000 on a beach hut. Another example is Susan Herdman who won £1.1 million and used it to fund her love of racing cars. She had a single seat Autograss car built for her and last year became the 2014 Overall British Ladies’ Autograss Champion.
Of course some winners have splashed out on more traditional luxuries; Catherine Bull won £40.6 million and now owns a private four bedroom villa in Tenerife. Nonetheless, a quick look at big winners just goes to show that there are millions of ways to spend your millions.
