Woman Almost Throws Away Winning Lottery Ticket
A woman from Oakland County had a lucky escape when an alert store clerk stopped her from throwing away a $100,000 winning lottery ticket.
Melissa Dean had bought two Triple Your Luck tickets and won $15 on the first of the tickets but didn’t think that the second ticket was a winner. She asked the store clerk to throw the second ticket away but luckily he first looked over it and scratched off the prize amount.
The clerk apparently “started screaming” that she had won $100,000 and told her to sign the back of the ticket and phone the lottery office. Other customers in the shop confirmed to Dean that she was in fact a winner. Dean has now collected her prize and she hopes to use the money to buy a new car, go on holiday and invest the remaining cash.
