$50m Jackpot Won by Ontario Resident

This week a Canadian man cashed in big on a $50 million winning LOTTO MAX ticket. The Ontario resident hailed from Barrie and won with the numbers 1, 5, 7, 13, 14, 33, 46 and bonus number of 47.
An Encore ticket holder received an addition $1 million prize along with two second-place finishers taking home just over $250K each. One of these lucky tickets was sold in London, while the other was picked up in western Canada.
The LOTTO MAX currently has a cap of $50 million, which is set to be raised later this summer. An additional $10 million will be added to the potential maximum prize, offering lucky winners the possibility to claim a $60 million prize. The change is set to take place on July 17.
The Maxmillons addition will still be added to the maximum jackpot prize along with funds from other sources.
The payment structure for winning combinations will also see slight variations. The change is expected to bring in more players with the promise of even larger potential prizes.
The LOTTO MAX lottery game is one of the most popular in Canada and features one of the biggest jackpots in the region as well.
