Winning Powerball Lotto Ticket This Wednesday Worth $40 million Jackpot
Last Saturday one lucky player hit the jackpot in the US Powerball draw and took home a whopping $203 million jackpot. As a result, cash prize winnings reset at the $40 million mark for Wednesday’s draw.
Saturday’s winning numbers were 9, 19, 33, 38, 54 and the Powerball was 15. One player matched all of the numbers and won a huge jackpot of $202.6 million. There were also five players, in Florida, North Carolina, New York, Oregon and Pennsylvania, that matched the five main numbers to win $1 million each. In total there were 739,356 winning players that shared prizes totalling $213,717,636.
Players of the Powerball lottery need to match at least the Powerball in order to win a prize. Without matching the Powerball, players need to match at least three of the main regular number to win a prize. Each entry to the Powerball costs $2 and players can pay an extra $1 to use the Power Play option.
Last week’s winner purchased the sole ticket worth nearly $203 million in St. Louis, Missouri. The ticket was purchased at the Gateway Newstands shop in Union Station, but has yet to surface and claim their prize. Of all forty-six states participating in the Powerball lottery, Missouri has sold the second largest amount of winning tickets.
