US Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $100 Million for Tuesday Draw
There were no jackpot winners in the last US Mega Millions draw which means that the jackpot for the coming draw on Tuesday is expected to be a massive $100 million. With this kind of money on offer, if a winner decides to take the cash option rather than the annual payments, they will receive $57 million. The weekend draw saw 2 players match 5 numbers to win $1 million each. There were also 2 Megaplier players that matched 4 numbers and the bonus number to win $25,000 each. A further 23 players matched four numbers and the bonus to win $5,000. In total around 1.5 million players received prizes of $1 or above.
The Mega Millions costs just $1 to play and players need to choose a total of six numbers, five between 1 and 75 and one between 1 and 15. The majority of states offer the Megaplier feature; this will increase non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times depending on the Megaplier drawn and it costs just $1 extra to play.
Jackpot winners have two options when claiming their prize. They can either take the annuity option, in which case the jackpot is paid out as one immediate payment and 29 annual payments. The other option is to take a one-time, lump-sum payment.
