USA Powerball Draw Offers $60 Million Jackpot on Wednesday
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is worth an estimated $60 million after no one matched Saturday’s winning numbers.
While no one hit the jackpot at the weekend’s draw, there was still an impressive $3,265,880 given away in prize money. This includes one lucky player from Texas who matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball and won $1 million.
With 45 states taking part in the Powerball it is quite usual to see the jackpots reach tens, if not hundreds, of millions of dollars, at one point last year the jackpot grew to an incredible $590,500,000.
Powerball tickets can be bought at thousands of retailers across the US.
Draws take place twice a week where five white balls are selected from a drum of 59 balls and one red ball is selected out of a drum with 35 balls. Tickets cost $2 and all players have to do is select six numbers. Players who match at least the Powerball or three of the regular balls will win a prize.
There is also the option to use Power Play. This costs an extra $1 and needs to be selected when purchasing tickets. However, all prizes (except the jackpot) won with a Power Play ticket are significantly bigger.
