Multiple UK Lottery Players Fail to Collect Prizes

Lottery players across the UK seem to be forgetting to cash in their winning tickets. In the last week players from Bristol, Fife, and Brighton and Hove, have all failed to cash in their tickets in time.

A player from Bristol had until Wednesday night to cash in their EuroMillions Lottery ticket worth £1 million. All players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize after which all unclaimed prizes are given to the National Lottery Good Causes fund.

Multiple UK Lottery Players Fail to Collect Prizes

In just one week three UK lottery players missed the deadline to collect their jackpots leaving millions in unclaimed prize money.

A spokesman from the National Lottery said, “We tried very hard to find the ticket-holder and it is a real shame that they have missed out. This money, and all the interest earned over the 180 days, will now go to benefit projects all over the UK funded by The National Lottery.”

A similar story played out in Fife, Scotland, a player failed to come forward and collect their prize in the allotted time. Again the money has gone to the Good Causes fund and a lottery spokesman released a statement “urging all National Lottery players to check their tickets on a regular basis.”

Amazingly enough, this happened three times in one week. A lottery player from Brighton and Hove failed to claim their £1 million prize from a Euromillions draw on July 26th.
