Mega Millions Winner Still a Mystery

While one winner of the $648 million Mega Millions jackpot has been identified, the second is yet to come forward.

One of the two winners of the $648 million Mega Millions jackpot has still to come forward and claim their prize.
The second winner was Ira Curry from Stone Mountain, an Atlanta suburb. In a statement released by lottery officials Curry said, “It’s unreal. It’s like I’m still dreaming.”
Curry has chosen to take a single-payment option and will take home about $120 million after federal and state taxes.
Curry has chosen not to appear at Wednesday’s lottery news conference, instead she will “take some time to think about it with her husband.” She has expressly said that she doesn’t want any publicity at all.
The jackpot grew to a massive $648 million after 22 consecutive drawings without a winner. The huge prize led to a surge in ticket sales, at one point over 31,000 tickets were being sold per minute in California.
