Three Tickets Share $448 Million Powerball Jackpot
On Wednesday evening millions of excited viewers watched the Powerball draw as the jackpot reached a massive $448 million. In the end three tickets matched all five numbers and the Powerball meaning that the jackpot will be split between three lucky players.
Three lucky Powerball players have won around $149 million each in Wednesday’s draw
One of the winning tickets was bought in Minnesota and the other two in New Jersey. Each of the ticket holders will win roughly $149 million, or less fi they choose the cash option. There will also be tax to pay on the winnings but as the amount is so large, it is safe to assume that the winners will not be complaining.
While the jackpot winners will be celebrating the most, there were a number of other participants who have good cause to be happy. Thirty-four of the tickets sold matched five numbers without the Powerball; the owners of these tickets will receive $1 million each.
There were a further 180 tickets which won $10,000 each for matching four of the numbers and the Powerball. Over all there were more than 3.66 million prizes won in the draw, and more than 4 million if the Power Play is counted as well.
