Lottery and Scratch Card Winners Bag Jackpots

Luck was on the side of three lucky winners who walked away with prizes ranging from “just” a couple of hundred thousand dollars to millions.
One of the winners was ex-Navy Chief Larry Sanderson who purchased a scratcher card at the Wilco store in Williamsburg and became the first man to win the $200,000 Joker Jackpot. Mr Sanderson’s winning ticket was bought as part of a $10 purchase, according to Virginia Lottery.
He also purchased $10 worth of Powerball tickets but unfortunately the $590 Powerball Jackpot was not on the cards that day.
Never the less, Mr Sanderson certainly didn’t complain when finding out about the jackpot win: he said “At first it was a little hard to comprehend”.
Another lucky winner in South Bend, Indiana walked away with a very handsome $666,000 “Cash 5” jackpot after buying the winning ticket from the “One Stop” shop on Lincolnway East.
The biggest recent win was claimed by a woman in Tuaranga, New Zealand who decided to remain anonymous – not surprising as her Triple Dip Lotto Powerball ticket earned her a staggering $9.83 million. She plans to spend it on a new house and travelling.
