No Online Gambling for Louisiana Residents

Louisiana’s Governor Bobby Jindal has written an article for the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report arguing against online gambling and promising to do everything he can to stop it spreading.

No Online Gambling for Louisiana Residents

Louisiana’s Governor has promised to do everything he can to prevent the spread of online gambling.

In the article Jindal explained that he fears online gambling will negatively affect the most vulnerable, “I believe that putting a casino in the pocket of practically every American will exploit society’s most vulnerable, threatening to saddle the poor and disadvantaged with spiraling debt.”

He went on to explain that he believes that there is a big difference between land-casino and online-casino gambling.

Furthermore he claims that it is “impossible to implement a responsible gambling protocol in an Internet gambling environment.”

Interestingly, he believes that most of America agrees with him stating that the “vast majority” of the country believes that online gambling is a bad idea.

Unfortunately this is very bad news for residents of Louisiana who enjoy gambling. In his article Jindal says that the 2011 reversal on the Wire Act of 1961 was a huge mistake and he has promised to prevent legal, regulated online gambling from coming to the state.
