Police Officer Filmed Playing Video Poker in Snowstorm

A police officer from Bolingbrook is being investigated by his department after a video appeared online which appears to show him playing video poker while driving a squad car through a snowstorm.

In the video a snow covered Bolingbrook police car can be seen and the interior computer monitor appears to show a game of video poker being played. The video clip appeared on YouTube last week but does not show the officer’s face.

A spokesman for the police, Lt. Michael Rompa, said that officials became aware of the video via social media, “The officer in this video has been identified. Due to the seriousness of this incident, the Bolingbrook Police Department has placed this under an internal investigation.”

Rompa refused to give any further information or comment on whether the officer was still on active duty.

The description posted with the video claims that it was taken “while the roads weren’t plowed and it was snowing. He was driving and trying to play video poker at the same time while road conditions were already treacherous.”
