MGM Resorts International has received a unanimous vote from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) finding it a suitable candidate for a casino license. The decision takes MGM one step closer to receiving the only license to operate a casino in Western Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has unanimously voted to approve MGM as a suitable candidate for a casino license.
After the decision James Murren, MGM Resorts Chairman and CEO, said, “MGM is very proud to have received the unanimous support of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission after many months of diligent hard work and cooperation by all parties. Our approach from the start of this rigorous process has been to be as forthright and thorough as possible in order to showcase our company’s incredible global work ethic and high standards.”
Now MGM must submit its full license application after which it will be required to present its proposal in a public hearing before the MGC. There will be two community public hearings following the presentation details of which will be released soon.
