Dancer Proposes Bill to Bring Slot Machines to New Jersey Racetrack

Assembly member Ron Dancer has introduced two measures which would allow slot machine gaming at New Jersey’s horse racetracks. Under the measures the proceeds would be used to both help the horse racing and casino industries as well as the State’s share which is dedicated as aid to education.

Ron Dancer has proposed a series of measures which would allow race tracks to install slot machines and benefit from the proceeds.
Dancer said, “This is a winning solution, a trifecta, if you will, for the casino industry, the horse racing industry and taxpayers who would all mutually benefit from allowing slot machine gambling at horse tracks throughout the state. It would provide an opportunity for casino operators to expand beyond the boundaries of Atlantic City and reach patrons who may not otherwise consider traveling to AC to engage in gambling activities”.
If the measures are passed the Division of Gaming Enforcement would take responsibility for overseeing the manner and method of the collection of revenues and ensure that they are distributed correctly.
